Zero import duties for chemical industry

Tymoshenko proposes zero import duties on equipment, raw materials for chemical enterprises. It is an example of a new view on industrial policy that was rarely used in Ukraine before:

She said this at a meeting dedicated to Ukraine's chemical industry in Severodonetsk, Luhansk region, on Saturday. "I believe we need a zero import duty on component parts and raw materials for domestic [chemical] industry," Tymoshenko said. At the same time, Ukraine needs to learn how to protect the domestic while importing foreign chemical products, she said.
